Amy Renzulli

Amy works primarily in mixed media, blending acrylics, markers, hand-printed papers, and found ephemera. Her process is intuitive—guided by trust, instinct, and a willingness to let go of judgment and comparison. Layers build upon layers, with marks, fixes, and scrapes revealing an evolving story. Often, the artwork itself dictates what needs to be expressed, making the creative process both meditative and enlightening. Each final piece has lived many lives before arriving at its completed form, always carrying an element of discovery and surprise.

Through painting, Amy continuously learns about her own emotions, life experiences, and creative energy. Art provides a means to navigate depression—both her own and that of those around her—while counteracting stagnation and bringing joy. She hopes her work sparks happiness in others, drawing viewers in with dynamic layers that reveal something new upon each encounter. Inspiration comes from everything around her, particularly the creative relationships she shares with family and friends.

Bold, bright, musical, and eclectic, Amy’s work is filled with colors, shapes, words, and imagery. She finds endless fascination in the challenge of capturing a sky full of shifting clouds and is continually drawn to a playful, high-impact approach to abstraction.
