Suzanne Rampage
At the heart of Suzanne Rampage’s work is the unfolding narrative—an ever-evolving visual story that invites reflection, curiosity, and connection. Inspired by intimate conversations with a circle of exceptional women, her ongoing series Unfolded explores the personal and collective journeys of transformation. Her process is both intentional and experimental, often replacing traditional tools with stainless steel knives, razor blades, and layers of plaster or ink to create richly textured surfaces.
Suzanne’s works on panel reveal a tactile interplay of sharp edges and soft strokes, where tape and burnishing techniques create depth and polish reminiscent of marble or mirrored finishes. In contrast, her Yupo paper series, with pooled India inks and translucent layers, draws attention to the material’s unique properties and the quiet history embedded within each piece.
Rooted in both formal exploration and emotional discovery, Suzanne’s practice invites viewers to join her in a meditative engagement with color, form, and the unknown. As her series expands, so too does its message—constantly unfolding, shifting, and revealing new meaning.
